Calling all Volunteers! The USO is coming to
Richmond! |
|
The USO of Richmond
will hold a volunteer meeting on March 11, 2010 at the
Richmond International Airport. We will meet at 6:15pm on the 1st
floor of the airport. When you enter, you will see the
information desk straight ahead and to your right. The Groom
transportation desk is straight ahead and to your left. Our
meeting space will be on the left past the Groom transportation
desk.
We ask anyone who is
interested in volunteering with the USO Richmond center to join
us. We will look at the space where the center will be, review
the plans for the center, look over and sign the volunteer
agreement form and form committees depending on your interest in
working with the USO. We want to hear ideas you may have. This
will be our USO for our soldiers.
We will need varying
skill sets. There is something for everyone. If you want to
work in the center and greet the soldiers, or help with the
planning of the events that we will use to raise funds to keep
the USO center operating, or you may want to work with our gala
team, or you have lots of connections and you can help us reach
out to some folks who will donate things we need and most of all
cash. I would love to see an event cosponsored by each of the
branches of the military so that we will have an Army, Air
Force, Coast Guard, Marine, Navy sponsored event. We need
representation from each segment of the military. When I say
sponsored I mean you bear the responsibility for the major
planning of that event and getting your folks involved for that
event. Our gala will be the coming together of all of our teams
for our largest event of the year. Perhaps your interest is
making certain that our soldiers have the warmest send off
possible as they deploy or the warmest welcome when they return
home. Whatever you talent, your gift, we need your help!
Please join us!
Please bring your
parking stubs to the meeting with you. Our President has agreed
to pay the cost of parking for that evening.
Thanking
you in advance,
Pat
